“Promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”
A.A.Milne

Life is not easy, in fact sometimes it can be extremely challenging!
Changing personal circumstances are often difficult to negotiate, relationships, jobs, finances, children, housing, illness and bereavement all bring their own personal challenges. This can result in us feeling that we are not coping, we are overwhelmed, anxious, depressed or simply stuck. Taking some time to pick apart what is going on with the situation, your thinking, your emotions, your behaviour and how it's impacting on you can make a huge difference to your understanding and perspective on the situation.
It is then, that a supportive therapeutic relationship can be extremely powerful. Speaking your truth, being heard, and working out what you need is not easy, but as your therapist I am trained to be there, to listen, to support you to unpick and help you to understand what changes you can put in place to help you move forward to a more satisfying and joyful life.
Having accessed personal counselling, more than once in my life, I understand how transformative the counselling process can be.
I am a fully qualified Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist having studied at the Centre of Therapy in Glasgow. I use an integrative approach incorporating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Compassion Focussed Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Emotion Focussed Therapy. I am also qualified in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing. These different approaches allow me to tailor the therapy to the differing needs of each individual.
I am an accredited member of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies and a member of the Mindfulness Association in Scotland and the Compassionate Mind Foundation.
With over 10 years experience, much of my work has focussed on depression, anxiety, trauma, bereavement, anger management, panic and insomnia.
Qualifications
In addition, I enjoy CPD courses, have monthly clinical supervision and attend peer group supervision every six weeks.
My office is based in EAST KILBRIDE village in South Lanarkshire.
During COVID I have been working only online, but now provide a mix of face to face and online appointments.
I understand that counselling is a major decision and personal investment for anyone, therefore I am happy to arrange a first 30 minute session for £10 in order to allow you to decide for yourself if counselling is for you…..
